levotonna mieletönnä | I felt uneasy, frantic
mettänpeittoon niinpä jäihen | There I fell in mettänpeitto
kaotuimpa maitten alle | I disappeared under the lands (note: I'm not sure about this translation...)
Sillä laulaa luikuttelin | Here I sang [a lot]
soitin soittoo suuna päänä | I played an instrument madly

On se mieleen siellä alla | He feels satified here down
mettänpeiton valtiaalle | He is the master of mettänpeitto
vuoren alla vanha voima | The old power under mountains
tammen alla suuri mahti | The great might under the oak

Enpä tiennyt enpä tainnut | I didn't know, I couldn't

"Metsänpeitto" is state of being in Finnish mythology. In the state of metsäpeitto no birds or other voices of forest can be head. A familiar forest becomes strange and different. Sense of time and space is lost. A person in mets'apeitto can look like a rock to others. It is possible to get out from metsänpeitto by turning some of your clothes upside down, staring between your legs or by singing to the spirits, like gnomes, who probybly caused the realm of metsänpeitto.

In this story a young boy gets caught in metsänpeitto, but manages to get out since he's thinking about the girls and singing all the time. However, some people are known to have stayed there forever.

My work for Enchanted Visions theme of this month: "Lady Of The Forest".
I was inspired by this wonderful Korpiklaani's song...
My interpretation is a woman, like a ninfa, is "born" from the songs of the lost boy, but she can be also a creature of Metsänpeitto.
Yes, I draw the boy a bit "hide", because is my intention for to make a little illusion that he's lost.... I cannot describe better, but I hope you understand!


Damn... It's a lot of time that I don't working on a big size (for me, ahahaha) like this: 29,7 x 42 cm!
Aahahaha.... In truth, when I finish this work, I immediately thinking that a lot of things are very very ugly, like the boy, or some details of the forest.... I just thinking that this work is like a song that started in fantastic way, but finish in a veeeeery bad and terrible way...
Indeed.. Please, I know this work is full of mistake.... Don't tell me anything of they...: rofl:
Ahhhhhhhhhh.... Absolutely no references for this work (here because I make some confusion for perspective and more, ahhahaa)!

Tools: HB - 2B Pencils, Tria Markers Letraset, Colored Pencils, Blopens, Watercolors Pencils, White Ecoline, Green-Blue-Orange Glitters, Glitter Adhesive Butterfly.
No retouch with Photoshop!
